The Lebanon Community Unit School District believes that participation in organized competitive sports will reward your student(s) with character, and a work ethic that will be valuable to them on and off the field of play for the rest of their lives.

The Greyhound Intramural Sports Program is designed for the maintenance of a proud tradition of student-athletes who demonstrate good academics, sportsmanship, self-discipline, responsibility, character, commitment, fairness, and respect.

The Greyhound Intramural Sports Program is an extension of our district's physical education instructional program, including the development of movement skills, health-related fitness, and personal and social responsibility, conducted before and/or after school among students in the same school. Our program will provide students with a variety of sports offerings that will be designed to accommodate differing levels of need, skill, readiness, and interests, while at the same time, helping to prepare our students for participation in SIJHSAA and IHSA sports programs offered to students.

The primary objectives for participants in Greyhound Intramurals are enjoyment and development of skills. Such an environment will enable students to extend the learning of the benefits of movement, develop positive attitudes, Increase confidence and self-esteem, enjoy positive social interactions, and broaden their interest in fitness and athletic events

All students must meet the following requirements to be eligible to participate:

1. Be enrolled at LCUSD 9.

2. Pay the activity fee of $25.00

3. Fill out the necessary registration information

Students who are enrolled in physical education must actively participate in class; otherwise, they cannot participate in intramurals on that day. Students who are medically excused are not eligible to participate in intramural activities.

Greyhound Intramurals are offered to 1st - 4th-grade students, as we currently offer participation in SIJHSAA and IHSA athletic programs from grades 5-12. Practices will be Tuesday and Thursday from school dismissal until 4:15 PM, with an activity bus that will drop off students who are not picked up at school.
