LCUSD#9 Families,
Our schools will be observing Spring Break around Easter weekend. As such, please be reminded that there is no school Thursday, April 17 - Monday, April 21. When we return from Spring Break on Tuesday, April 22 we will be entering the homestretch as we begin the second half of the 4th grading period. Please continue to partner with us in reminding your student(s) of the importance of regular daily attendance and work completion. When students do not attend school, they miss out on valuable time with teachers and classmates. When students miss just two (2) days a month, they will miss 15+ hours of math over the course of the school year and nearly 30 hours of reading and writing over the year. They will miss well over a year of school by the time they graduate by missing just two days of school per month.The best way to stay caught up academically is to attend school regularly and complete daily assignments. Let’s work together to encourage all of our Greyhounds to finish strong this year!
Annual State Assessments - Thank you to our teachers and staff members for their hard work during the preparation for and administration of the annual state assessments. Thanks to our parents and family members for helping our students remember to get plenty of rest, eat a healthy breakfast, and be to school on time during the testing season. Thank you to our students for giving their best effort on these tests. We are looking forward to seeing how our Greyhounds performed on the 2025 state assessments.

Finally, I would like to encourage each of you to pay attention to the growing list of upcoming events that I have listed at the bottom of this communication. While this is certainly not an exhaustive list at this time and dates will be added between now and the May update, this list does provide families with a quick look at many of the events on our Spring calendar. Please pay attention to the district website and individual school building communications for other events. Summer Camp opportunities will be included in the next LCUSD#9 update, as well.
